Music that Inspires Learning

While incorporating music in the classroom I have experienced, and seen the learning process blossom and develop with interest. The most important point to remember when playing music in the classroom is that it's clearly not meant to be a distraction but, rather a motivational tool in accompanying the learning process of your students.

Start your day on a Calm Note:
When teaching first and third grade I played soft instrumental music as students entered the room each morning. I felt that the calming effects of the music truly set a quiet and positive tone for our classroom environment. In addition, student concentration was noticeable during our daily morning routines when the music was softly heard in the background.

Building Vocabulary for ELL's with Music:

Music can be an essential tool for second language learners when building a strong vocabulary foundation through repetition and clear lyrics.
A HUGE shout out to SafeShare.tv for removing the unwanted (at times-awkward) material(s) from YouTube and Vimeo videos. Safe.Share.TV is a MUST-Use tool for all classroom teachers! It is truly a valuable application for both teachers and students that eliminates inappropriate marketing ads when viewing YouTube or Vimeo videos in the classroom. Thank you Safe.Share I look forward  to linking all of my new and old blog videos through SafeShare.TV.
