World Record Reader

Last year I incorporated a digital initiative “We Give Books” into both my after school reading curriculum and summer tutoring lessons.  As I continue to provide a solid reading foundation for my students I jumped at the opportunity to set a new reading world record  an opportunity that would raise awareness about the importance of early childhood literacy! By joining millions of adults and children on October 4th and reading the same book (Ladybug Girl and the Bug Squad by David Soman and Jacky Davis) I continued my personal celebration of "Staying Focused on the Children" and my dedication to our Country by working hard to see that every child in America enters school prepared to succeed.

I have been able to provide some amazing opportunities for my students and would love to share these experiences and future anticipated activities with you if you have yet to become familiar with this online literacy support. (Please view my Page above labeled: Campaign Reading.) We give books has been created by Penguin Group and the Pearson Foundation. Together, they provide educators and students with free support that inspires children to become lifelong readers and lifelong givers!

Jumpstart’s Read for the Record is a yearly campaign
in partnership with Pearson Foundation to jumpstart a child’s literacy future.
